Mobile App & Website Design

ABOUT

Project Overview

Linkup Storage is an innovative app designed to help users in Denmark list their free storage and parking spaces for rent, or find available spaces for their own use, whether on a weekly or monthly basis. The objective was to design a clean, user-friendly, and visually appealing mobile app interface that simplifies the process of renting storage or parking spaces.

As a UI/UX designer, my role was to create a seamless, intuitive design that enhances the user experience while ensuring functionality. I designed all the necessary screens, from onboarding to the booking process, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey for both hosts and lessees.

Research & Insights

Before jumping into the design, I conducted a series of research activities:

  • Competitive Analysis: I reviewed similar apps in the market to understand their strengths and shortcomings, paying close attention to user feedback.
  • User Personas: I developed user personas based on target demographics—hosts and lessees—so that I could focus on their needs, goals, and pain points.
  • Usability Testing: Early feedback from users helped me understand common frustrations and preferences, ensuring that the app’s design would be intuitive and efficient.

The primary goal was to ensure that the app is as easy as possible to navigate, minimizing the number of steps required to complete each action.

Challenges & Solutions:

  • Balancing Simplicity with Functionality: A key challenge was ensuring that the app’s functionality did not overwhelm the user. I focused on a minimalistic design with clear calls to action and an easy-to-understand flow.
  • Building Trust Between Hosts and Lessees: Since users are sharing personal space, I implemented features such as user reviews, detailed listings, and secure payment systems to foster trust.
  • Adapting to User Feedback: Through iterative testing, I was able to refine the interface based on real user feedback, ensuring the final product addressed pain points and provided a satisfying experience.

Key Features:

  • Search & Filters: Users can search for spaces by location, size, price, and rental type. Filters make it easy to find exactly what they’re looking for.
  • User Verification with MitID: To ensure authenticity, I integrated MitID for secure identity verification during the registration process.
  • Dynamic Listings: Hosts can upload photos, set rental prices, and describe their space with customizable options for added flexibility.
  • Booking Calendar: Lessees can select rental dates, with the app automatically adjusting prices based on the chosen rental type (weekly, monthly, or day-to-day).
  • Secure Payments & Payouts: Integrated payment gateway and service fee structure, ensuring secure transactions between hosts and lessees.
  • Contract Management: Built-in digital contracts for both parties to review and approve before finalizing the rental agreement.

Geometric sans serif typefaces have always been popular, and with support for both the Devanagari and Latin writing systems, Poppins is an internationalist addition to the genre. It is very neat and clean. It have more readability and variety of options. That’s why I used this font.
